Promotional Diaries
With the advent of Digital Diaries several years ago there was a temporary reduction in demand for the long-serving Promotional Diary. However all that glisters is not gold and the Digital variety were eventually found to be an over-elaborate solution to a straightforward situation. Promotional Diaries resumed their rightful place. The resurgence of this popular product coincided with the introduction of a number of man-made materials suitable for their binding process. Traditionally Diaries, both Desk and Pocket, were bound in Leather or Bonded Leather (recycled). The less expensive alternatives were a material known as Baladek or Vinyl welded to size.
Baladek was manufactured to give as close a similarity to Leather as possible but was easily discernable from the real thing.
As demand re-grew for Promotional Diaries a number of cover materials had become available which matched leather more than faithfully. They resembled quality calf more than “split” leather, which was in any event at the lower end price-wise. The only way to tell the difference was the aroma.
A Diary could be put onto the market, which looked to be of the highest quality at an amazingly competitive price. The full range of Promotional Diaries had a face lift.
There are two categories of Diaries – a widely known fact – Desk and Pocket.
The Desk Diary choice is as follows:
-A5 Diaries with both one-day to a page and week to view formats. -A4 Diaries as above
-Quarto Diaries (210 x 260 mm) in week to view format only.
Some of the above are available with monthly indexation and Academic Year Diaries are also available.
Pocket Diaries have a wider range:
- Weekly Diaries in both Landscape and Portrait format – typically sized at 80 x 170mm.
- Two week to view Diaries – ie one week per page
- One month to view Diaries.
Both Promotional Desk and Pocket can be bound in two ways – case- and comb-bound. The advantage of the comb-bound version is that it can lie completely flat. Man-made covering materials have advanced and now provide a wide choice of colours and all diaries can, if wished, have a two-tone binding. Colour schemes, which might have seemed outlandish previously, are now commonly used. The list of unconventional colours include mustard yellow, orange, indigo blue, silver, lime green and purple. What was once considered outrageous is now happily accepted So Promotional Diaries have reclaimed their rightful standing in the Corporate Gift Market. The range includes something for everyone – young and old, male and female. |
