The Brand Names of Promotional Products
By Sean Healy of Steel City Marketing
As a result of the growth of the Promotional Product Market over the past 20 years a large number of well-known High Street Brand Names have found it more than a good idea to make their products available to this marketing sector. Pens and Writing Instruments are an obvious example. The Parker Brands have been successful for a good number of years. Their group includes the highly regarded Waterman, Rotring and Papermate Ranges. Bic is another example and, as owners of the famous Sheaffer Pens, it contributes two significant Brand Names. Other famous High Street names include A.T. Cross and Mont Blonc. Within the personal product accessory group, Filofax are enjoying considerable success and are increasingly involved in the Corporate Gift Market. Slazenger have produced a range of clothing to which they have added sports holdalls, sunglasses and rucksacks. Many other Brand Names have joined Slazenger into the Promotional Clothing Sector. Fruit of the Loom, Hanes and Jerzee offer good choice in T and Sweatshirts. With many Companies hosting Golf Days, clothing with logos is paramount and made available by Ashworth, Glenmuir, Adidas, Callaway, Ping and others. All the leading Golf Ball Manufacturers have been selling their products in this way for many years. Previously distributed via Golf Professionals they are almost all use the Promotional Product route. Brand names include Titleist, Wilson, Maxfli, Callaway, Nike, Pinnacle and Topflight. Luggage and Laptop Bags are represented by Antler and Masters brands, Glassware by Royal Doulton and Waterford and Atlases by the A.A. The well-known Maglite Torch is sold consistently. All models are available, some in a range of colours to suit Companies’ Corporate Colours. Both Brand Names who make Swiss Army Knives are in the mix. The two manufacturers are Victorinox and Wenger – one entitled to use the strap line “Genuine Swiss Army Knife”, the other “The Original”. Collins and Letts are among those supplying Diaries whilst Bemrose provide Corporate Calendars. The predominance of High Street Brand Names in the Corporate Gift Market is a result of two things - the great marketing opportunity presented to the Manufacturers and the importance placed upon the quality of product needed by the donors. |
